Privacy Policy

1. Information we handle

We handle the following information as needed to provide the App.

• Profile and targets: age, height, weight, sex used to calculate targets, purpose, usual activity, strength-training frequency, locale, and time zone.
• Meal records: meal name, date, protein, fat, carbohydrates, calories, and creation and update times.
• AI input: text you enter, instructions to revise an estimate, voice audio, and past meal names used to assist speech recognition.
• Identifiers and use: Firebase anonymous user identifier, request identifiers, and AI feature usage count.
• Technical information: processing time, data volume, error category, processing version, and App Check information about app and device integrity.
• Purchase information: subscription status, renewal, cancellation, and expiry information provided by Apple or Google Play.
• Support information: your email address and other information you choose to send to us.

We do not use advertising tracking or collect advertising identifiers. App update checks retrieve a public update setting from Firebase Hosting without sending meal or profile data, authentication IDs, or starting Firebase Authentication or Analytics. Hosting servers receive ordinary HTTP information such as IP addresses.

At the end of initial setup, you can choose whether to share usage information. If you choose “Agree and get started,” Google Analytics for Firebase receives interaction events, an app-instance identifier, and device and app information to improve usability. If you choose “Get started without sharing,” the App’s core features remain available. These events do not include meal names, entered text, audio, nutrition values, age, height, weight, or Firebase UID. This choice is separate from consent for AI data processing. Turning sharing off in Settings stops future collection and resets Analytics data on the device; it does not guarantee deletion of data already sent.

2. How we use information

• To record and show meals, calories, macros, and targets on your device.
• To transcribe voice and estimate nutrition from your input.
• To review and revise AI results and prevent duplicate processing.
• To verify subscription status and provide paid features.
• To prevent abuse, control usage, investigate failures, and improve quality.
• To respond to support requests and important notices.
• To comply with law and our Terms of Use.

We do not use your input for advertising or tracking.

3. Processing by service providers

Before first use of AI food logging, the App shows the data, recipient, and purpose of the transfer and asks for your consent. You can use manual logging, saved meal records, and target management without consenting.

AI target chat asks for separate consent. It can send, through Google Firebase to OpenAI, profile and target information, answers about progress and preferences, optional free text, number of logged days in the past 28 days, locale, chat revisions, and the preceding suggestion. It does not send your full meal history. Your target remains unchanged until you choose to apply a suggestion; manual adjustment is also available.

We use the following providers, which process information under their own terms and privacy conditions. Information may be processed outside Japan.

• Google LLC (Firebase and Google Play): anonymous authentication, AI usage and purchase-status storage, server processing, abuse prevention, website and Android distribution, and Google Play subscriptions. Google Privacy Policy

4. Retention and deletion

• Profiles, targets, and meal records are stored on your device until you delete them. We do not synchronize or permanently store those records in Firebase.
• Text in progress, revision instructions, nutrition values being edited, and analysis results may be stored as local drafts. Drafts are not synchronized and can be removed by saving a meal, discarding the draft, or deleting data in the App. Audio files are not kept in drafts.
• For AI-analysis deduplication, an anonymous identifier, input hash, and result are generally retained for 24 hours; the entered text itself is not retained in this data.
• For AI target chat, an anonymous identifier, input hash, supplemental and chat messages, suggestion text, and suggested values are generally retained in Firebase for 24 hours to continue a conversation and prevent duplicate processing. A recent part of the conversation and suggestion state may be used in the next chat. After the period, deletion can be delayed until the automated deletion process runs.
• Hourly and daily abuse-prevention counters are generally retained for 3 days. Monthly free-use and duplicate-processing data are generally retained for 40 days after the last update. Trial dates and subscription status are retained until you delete data and the anonymous account in the App.
• We do not permanently store voice files or transcription text in Firestore or operational logs. Operational logs contain hashed identifiers, timing, and error categories rather than entered text or audio and are generally retained for 30 days.

Use Settings → Delete account and all data in the App to begin deletion of device records, relevant Firebase data, and the anonymous account. This cannot be undone. If you cannot delete in the App, contact us by email. Deleting the App or account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in your Apple Account or Google Play subscription settings.

5. Sharing

We do not sell or provide user information to third parties except as needed to provide the functions described here, with your consent, when required by law or to protect life, body, or property, or as part of a business succession. We select and manage service providers with appropriate safeguards.

6. Security

We use measures appropriate to the nature of the information, including encrypted communications, access controls, anonymous authentication, App Check, and server-side management of secrets. No internet transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. Your choices

• Microphone access is optional. Text and manual logging remain available without it.
• You can change microphone permission in your device settings.
• You can withdraw consent for AI food logging and AI target chat in Settings. The App will not send the relevant text, audio, target-chat information, or usage status to Firebase or OpenAI until you consent again, except when necessary to process a request to delete all data.
• Withdrawing consent does not remove manual logging or records already stored on your device.
• The App is generally intended for people aged 18 and over.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the App, applicable law, or our information practices change. We will provide notice on this page or in the App for material changes. The updated policy applies when posted here.
